I think when he mentions anti-shock, he's referring to the magnets which act as transit protection for the laser assembly, rather than playback anti-shock buffering.

Not passing comment on the EQ debate, but I'm interested in the +4 at 31.5Hz. That is way below damping for the majority of commercial boxes and will therefore be reproduced at very poor efficiency....
Home-made with Fane drivers.
Any more info than that and it would probably bore you.
Electric fence...
Just joking. I've yet to have any bother at a kids/teenage disco, but I'm sure it'll happen sometime.
Unless your income depended on her, and I doubt it does, I'd politely tell her to find another service provider.
One thing we don't need are people like that.
Rob, for our information, what's this?
4 channels here.
I have 2 twin CD decks permanently wired in and ready to go, but obviously only 2 assigned to the crossfade.
I do find this useful as there are times when a third deck is very...
Had an interesting one last night actually - only enough room for one speaker, one T bar and the CD decks. Not too dissimilar to playing in a toilet really, even the floor was tiled!
Was I...
Tom - an interesting question, and in essence you are correct in your assumption.
A 'tuned box' has a response which rolls off at 12dB per octave below port tuning, and at these frequencies there...
Well, LEDs were always just intended to be panel indicator lights and not a useable light source, so that 'mindset' probably held back research, as LEDs were doing what they were originally designed...
But why don't they just make the darned thing standards compliant in the first place??
W3C have been around a while now, so Microsoft have no excuse in this respect.
It makes no difference to an amplifier whether it is run 'unevenly' or not as it is in fact two seperate units, and each functions as an amplifier in its own right - all that will happen is the side...
I was in Tesco late last night, and was looking at the little lights illuminating the interior of the freezer cabinets - they are LEDs but very bright indeed, and almost dazzling to look into.

I've yet to play at a venue where I had to set up in such a way that cables crossed a doorway of any sort.
Odd venue layout you have there!
Microsoft - Windows 98SE.
It does what I want, is stable and all the software I bought/scrounged years ago still runs on it. Of course.
I'd love to get to grips with Linux, but I don't fancy...
But the daft thing about having a radio playing in public is that monies have already been paid - by the radio station.
PRS in desperation mode??
I don't think that will happen with books though.
I find it irritating trying to read off of a computer screen, and would much rather read from a printed page.
I'm not sure why this is - possibly...
I suppose that's one advantage of the increasing trend towards downloads - more environmentally friendly, with no left-over unsellables.
Oh come on!
That track has to be one of the most requested at teenage events of late!
Agreed - that doesn't actually make the track good...
As regards recording the Top 40 - I have tape spools...
Regarding the opening post, that's extremely poor of the PRS - I'd have thought they would at least have done a little 'homework' to avoid the possibility of causing distress, which this may well...
On the other hand, he may well be working Friday & Saturday every weekend, and his expenses per gig could easily be lower than £30. After all, what has he got to spend on? Lower end equipment,...
I think it depends on what the roadie does.
If he just helps carry the gear, then 10% is good.
If he also assists during the evening - finding CDs and tidying away, and intercepting members of the...
Good site, AND IT WORKS WITHOUT FLASH OR JAVASCRIPT!! Well done.
I would, however, remove the 'under construction' bit at the bottom, and certainly the link to the old site.
I thought all discos were like this - is this not the case?? :D
I do see your point, but what I'm trying to say is that the 'newness' or 'upmarketness' of your CD deck/laptop isn't actually going...
Yes, it might well sort out the old Soundlabs, agreed. :D
