I would half the weight limit to 60kg though as the quality is quite average.
Colour temperature and brightness are lower with the MSD200 so probs best avoided.
Are you sure it's not the end of the lamp you are seeing in the projected image? This is quite common. It could be worse with cheap lamps. Usually looks worse when you are projecting to a surface...

I agree, taking red hot lamps out into a cold environment can never be a good thing. If the unit has a feature to switch the lamp off and leave the fans running then do that for 5 mins before...
1.6v should be safe. Most mixers output about 1.4v when you hit the 0db light.
£5K is a lot of cash. Do your homework and go for some listening test. You could get and HK Audio Actor DX for that which has 4x 15" subs. Something to consider

You also have to consider the sensitivity of the driver and the designed crossover point. I would advise getting a direct replacement.
