Default How many pages on a website?

After a bit of discussion on another thread, I am wondering how many pages you think the average mobile disco website should have & why?

Also, what are the advantages & disadvantages of having just a few pages, and also of having a lot more?

My own view is that 10 pages should generally be more than enough.

If you have more than that, I think it over-complicates things, as it takes people longer to find the pages (and therefore the information) they want.

My own site only has 6 pages, and I've received loads of compliments about it being clear & concise, and easy to navigate.

    Ok guys.....over to you!

Is this just for mobile discos or other entertainment?

I have way more than you and have also been complimented on the information and how much it has helped people with their functions.

I was just thinking of mobile discos, as obviously the more services you provide, the more pages your site will need.

To be honest, I must say your site is one of the best ones I've seen with that many pages...the reason being that the pages have been very well thought out...so there is no obvious overlap, which helps to keep things concise. I can't say the same for many others!

I'm even thinking of nicking one of the things you have for my own site!

I've got 11 pages on mine

Basically broken down to show each part of what we do, can't see myself needing anymore than that unless I do some add ons like a dedicated kids parties page or bouncy castles which I toyed with for a while.

It isn't something which is copyright, just an idea...so I don't have to ask!

It still might be polite to ask though.

It's nothing particularly exciting, Darren...only scrolling text at the top of the home page.

    Can I?

    Pretty please!

    Oh, I see.

You don't need to ask as that's not under copyright....

Actually, I have that there for a reason - it is easily updateable and the robots and spiders do pick it up for the search engines.
