I am 40 and I like current dance music as well as a lot of other genres.

If the guy that requested current dance was in his 70s or 80s then I could understand it, but 40s?

As do we all, my affronted friend. It's just that as a general rule, we are expected to ask for the music that was in vogue in our teens. Thus Tom would expect a 40yr old to ask for 80's. I recently had nursery children asking for Nirvana and similar, now that was a facer!
I don't think Tom's implying that anyone who has reached the venerable age of Forty must stop enjoying current tunes. I want to say some things, but daren't in case they are seen as digs or jibes. Really not my intent.

Tonight I'm covering a 70th for Twinspin, so it will be interesting to see what requests I get.

    Default Lastnights xmas party......

I had my second last xmas party lastnight......and what a night it was......

I had Smallworld, Firemen and few other companies......

One of the games i play in my venue and dmckaraoke plays in his venue across the road is to get the first fuull table on the dance floor with their tablecards and they receieve a prize......so done the game as normal but then to look up at my dancefloor and see that the firemen had lifted their table onto the dancefloor with the wine glasses ande beer bottles still standing.....I couldnt believe my eyes.....I was speechless and couldnt stop laughing.....

Just to add to the good night at the end of the evening a young (very drunk) girl may i add said thankyou so much had a great night its refreshing to see a female dj....It made me feel so good about myself

    PS. What is Happy Hardcore?
They didn't have that in the 70's.

Scooter is kinda Happy Hardcore, Stingray and SonicDriver (Cold As Ice) - think Hi-NRG/Euro at 140-150 BPM with (often) sped-up and chipmunk-y vocals, sometimes with really hard doubled bass/bass-drum hits (think Hocus Pocus 'Here's Johnny' which is more Hardcore than Happy Hardcore, but you get the idea).

Had a great gig tonight too. Small corporate Christmas event (38 people). Turned out to be one of the best events of the year. I also got a nice 3 course meal from the organisers too - and a nice tip at the end.

Tomorrow is my last gig before Christmas. Small childrens children's party for a friends daughter. Then just one more wedding (on the 29th) and that's it for me this year. Time to stock up on the alcohol.
