I was at a 40th and an 18th earlier this year and both dj's only had two lights. At the 40th the guy had a simple moonflower and a stormbird type light.
At the 18th the dj had a moonflower similar to the first guys. And a miracled.

My sister thought both dj's were good Then again she had been drinking quite a bit

What has their equipment (or lack of) got to do with their ability?

We are good DJs its just the lack of equipment. People are pleased with what we do but always comment on the lack of lighting.

May have sorted this now though as a friend has a £20 water effect from maplins and a £20 lazer from a shop (in skegness?) They are both decent lights and he has offered to rent them to us for free.

Still dont know if this is enough so whats your opinions.

I have a similarly priced water light made by Soundlab.
It was a good light to project behind you onto the wall.
However it lasted about 3 gigs until the motors started to fail.
You may have more luck than me.

Just be careful with the laser, point it upwards.

    It was here first.

Right, I'll make you an offer. I have 4 x Source mini moonflower lights Colourblade Juniors). They are 100W each, don't have gobos and are basic, but are nearly brand new.
They have a sensitivity button and are sound to light. They've had about 3 or 4 hires and that's it. They also have padded bags. You can have all 4 for £60, but you'll need to find £10 for delivery.

If they're like a Vasto, I'd recommend them. Mine are the best value for money I've ever spent. Folk knock them, but I love them.

Excalibur. Older than the average DJ.

I don't think they are like a Vasto tbh.

Well yes, and no. Bigger bulb and casing, but in essence the same type of effect. An excellent machine.

I think I've seen a Vasto - do they project what looks like curley white gobos?
