    Dual Core is the older version of the Dual processors. Core 2 Duo is the newer models.

    You def need 2gb RAM.
    My Vista PC was much faster with the extra memory.

    Having 2GB of ram at poor speeds is worse than 1GB at good speeds. (ram Clock speeds)

    Not if the PC is having to swap out programs/data to a hard disk !
