    Exclamation caution dodgy web sales

    hi all,

not sure if this is in the right place but yesterday i got a very aggressive hard sell call from a guy sayiny he was from google.

He claimed he could get me 1st place listing with them, when i said no thanks he got very pushy, I checked the number its not google and they are apparently selling adwords that they bulk buy.

    the number was 01772 672 800.

    cheers all

    Thanks for that Andy.

This is as good a place as any for it.

    I had this last week,
I asked the salesman for references and he was stumped, Said he would put me on hold but then the line went dead.

Seems a simple google search of the phone number comes up with:

    http://www.coolas****.co.uk/clients/...t/contact.html

    Mmmm..... unimpressed.

A lot of folk are very polite and reluctant to hang up when someone has called them. If you get a sales call that you are not happy with, simply hang up. If they keep calling you then register with the Telephone Preference Service (TPS). If you are on the TPS list and you still get these calls, advise the caller that you are registered with the TPS and that you don't want anymore calls. If they persist after this, then inform the TPS who will take it up on your behalf. They have a lot more power than most people believe!
