    Default New Lighting Effect

    Hello

To cut a very long story short, i was supposed to be getting 2 ADJ Starball LED DMXs for xmas, however i received the non-dmx versions, so have got a refund.

I'm looking for a light or two, to accompany my current setup.

I currently have 2 ACME Magic Gobos and 4 ACME Dynamo Scans.

I'm looking for a unit that can add some more effect to a room, i.e possibly the DMX version of LED Starball/Tri-LED Sunray or something like a starcluster laser.

I'd welcome any ideas! The maximum i can have for xmas present is £100. So anything over £100 i have to pay for, however i'm willing to do that, however not a stupid amount of cash!

I'm looking for something between £0 (i'd be lucky ) and £180, this can be either one unit or two.

Thanks for your help in advance, Ollie J

Edit: If it helps at all, i predominantly do teen parties/school parties and quite often do 50ths. The only gig i will definately not be doing for a while is Weddings.

Ollie, for under £100 you get get the Equinox Orion Laser - very effective - can be bought for £80ish now - or something like the LED Stratos Wash are very good and flexible - fully DMXable - colour mixing - built in programs, speed, colour, fade etc - and they strobe too - in colour if you wish! - around £120-140.

not much info on them out there, but check them out - could add a bit of colour to your rig and lightweight too.

    Hi Andy,

Thanks for your reply! I'm not too sure about the typical 'flat-beam, tunnel' lasers just yet as they're more of a 'wow' effect.

I'll have a look at the LED Stratos Wash effects.

    Thanks

Just checked them out, and i'm not too keen.

I'd like something that is a cool effect rather than a wash.

    Any more ideas? Laser? Starball?

Mirror ball and pinspots? I know you do teen events but theyve just installed 6 huge mirrorballs in the local club and the younger folk are the ones most impressed.

    Hey Steve

Thanks for your reply. It's a good point, however i was going to go along the 'LED Mirrorball' line. i.e The Starballs. Also, if i did get a mirror ball, i'd want a fairly powerful light on it.

Sounds like youve got your heart set on the starball? Looks well cool aswell.

http://www.bem-music.com/list.pl?id=111952 is the cheapest it can find. £87 each.

    Or Cluster Buster - http://www.djkit.co.uk/product.php?id=4261&cat=308 - £126.99

Just found the Nebula laser for £160. Good deal?

I assume it's the same effect as the Kam Starcluster?

Perhaps you could add 1 or 2 Acme Dynarocks? They will link with your Dynamos and add a lot of moving colour.
