I had the same problem too. The possible solutions I have found are:

    1. Use force total rebuild in Librarian
    2. Delete the Library and build it again
    3. Use the D2 Manager software to delete the playlists you dont want any more.

    Thanks guys.

I'm currently halfway through a "force total rebuild" using the librarian software.

Spin - you weren't wrong when you said it takes some time. It's been running for an hour and a half so far, and it's STILL only about two thirds of the way through!

I just hope it solves the problem. If so, I'll update the other ipods tomorrow.

    Watch this space!

Edit: Ok...it took two and a half hours, but the librarian software finally finished rebuilding the library on my ipod..

I then crossed my fingers and plugged it into the D2, and success...the duplicate playlists have disappeared, so problem solved.

I'm off to bed in a minute, so I'll have to do the other ipods tomorrow.

Glad it worked for you . I wipe my main drive and reformat it about every 6 - 8 weeks then copy back all the music and rebuild the library from scratch. This speeds up the drive a lot as all the files are recorded correctly on the drive in the right order so they are not fragmented.

Also means any major changes to my collection are fixed quickly. For example I am currently redating my music and removing any unwanted doubles from the collection. But without a full rebuid the D2 wouldnt know the difference.
When the world ends , ill probably have to clean up the mess.

If this is the big advantage of ipod and D2, then I'm so glad I've got a Cortex and HD. Updates itself every time I add/remove tracks.

Shame the Cortex is only about 10% as reliable as the D2, though!

On the basis of how reliable mine have been, I have no complaints.
