You've already mentioned all of mine!

The only other one I can think of is Club Tropicana.

To be honest, I think it's more important to get the females on the dancefloor...partly because it's a feast for my eyes, and partly because the blokes will follow.

Have to disagree with #3 and #4 - definitely girlie tracks.

For me, Baggy Trousers & One Step Beyond work very well for blokes, as do Nelly The Elephant (Toy Dolls) and the Can Can. More mainstream, anything fast by The Jam (eg. Town Called Malice), or if the crowd are a bit older a smattering of Rainbow, Quo or even The Stones. A bit of 60s soul usually works a treat too.

A bit more up-to-date and Kaiser Chiefs (Riot or Ruby), Fratellis or similar styles work well... not forgetting of course 'Mr Brightside'

Add a few 90s tunes - Mondays, James etc. for the 20/30 somethings, job done

This is very true, I've always said the same

100% agree with all of that!

If they've had a drink, there's always a few who'll get up to 'I'm Too Sexy', but the results usually aren't a feast for the eyes

Of course i missed status quo & back in black. Any more?

I did a masonic gig last night and it was a chore to get the blokes up hence this post. Its always been an area i have struggled with early on in the evenings. i just think that they dont and wont dance until after a few drinks but there must be a way? The volume was low as there are loads of oldies there who moan.

I have always used the women to grab their partners by playing a slowy and then moving it on to more dancy stuff.

It was the ladies night though so i was not too bothered. Got there in the end. I managed to loose auld lang syne for the end as i cant spell (olde) so they got bohemian rhapsody while i realized what i had done wrong.

Bohemian Rapsody is something I don't really play as it has too much of a slow intro.

    For me it's usually:

    The Killers - Mr Brightside
    The Fratellis - Chelsea Dagger
    James - Sit Down
    Pulp - Common People
Madness - Baggy Trousers / One Step Beyond.
Jam - A Town Called Malice
Queen - Don't Stop Me Now
