First Wedding Reception

I have my first Wedding reception in September. I would appreciate all tips/advice from you, do's, don'ts, songs, etc.

My biggest tip would be.... preparation! Make sure that you get as much information from the Bride and Groom as you can about their reception: their plans, itinery, likes, dislikes, wants/do not wants, guests, first dance, any other 'special' music, general musical likes, etc.

Not only will it help you give them the show that they are after, but they will also feel that you are taking notice of them and treating them as individuals - not just as another gig.

call it a small contribution to the brides and grooms happiness on their first dance for photo memories set off a confetti cannon (hand held variety) you can easily buy these in most good newsagents or party shops for about £1.50 each worth every penny

I would completely concur with what Angela has said, make them feel special for their special day.

I send out a Questionnaire for all the functions I do which covers all of these points, and it gives people a chance to sit down and think about it.

CHECK WITH THE VENUE FIRST!!!!!! Many don't like them being used!
