19 year old looking to get into the mobile DJ scene. Currently practicing on my laptop. Not to sound dis-respectful to mobile dj's, but at parties and gatherings, is less emphasis put on the beat matching and seemless mixing, as oppose to just playing songs that the audience wants to hear?

For the most part beat matching is less prominent for mobile gigs. Saying that though, I beatmix at almost every event, and across most genres of music. Not for the entire night, but always at some point of the evening.

Beatmixing aside, structuring your playlist to ensure a good flow is more important than seamless mixing.
