Good luck with the birthday party, recently did a similar one with some games thrown in, like musical statues, best dancers, it was also fancy dress(so best boy/girl outfit) also one the went down well was eating a sugarred jam donut without licking their lips(cost me £2 for 10 donuts, also made sure none of the children taking part had a nut allergy because of the warning on the bags) but the kids loved it.
Childrens disco's that I do only last for 2 hour, maybe 3 max. The bonus was I got 3 further bookings, there on the night. Prizes, I normally advise the person arranging the party to get them, as they know the children, and the onus is on them if anything untoward happens with the gifts.
For other games, look at Mr. Mayhems Childrens games which is shown in this section of the forum, Mummy game looks a laugh. Any way hope you have a good one.

I did a kids dance school presentation party last friday night. It's the second one I've done for the same school and I've secured two bookings from it already from mums who saw me dj at them.
All I did was play chart stuff I.E Lady gaga/Black eyed peas/Cheryl Cole you know the usual suspects kids that age like. Then I played a selection of dance anthems from the 80's/90's for the parents to dance to once the kids started to get tired.
