    Default Noise Levels

Does anyone know what (or if there is) a sound level limit in dBC’s in a residential area? The reason I ask is that I have 2 weddings coming up whereby the reception is to be held in the Bride and Grooms houses (and 1 is in a garden). I’ve just purchased a sound Level meter to keep the levels in check, but I obviously need to know what the limit is!

I would suggest you check out the councils environmental health web site. Ths council can respond to any noise related matter if a complaint is made. What is reasonable in a residential area is most likely to be very low. If it annoys any of the neighbours then technically its a nuisance.
