i've used my laptop on top of my amp, and didnt do either any harm, though it did get a little warm at one point when i started playing on some F1 game! *

Shouldn't be a problem, most amps these days are designed for racks, so push air out the back - not the top
So are there any components in an amp that would affect the hard drive in a PC that I don't know about?

You need not be concerned
the coils in the amp by their very nature produce slight eletromagnetic forces, not enough to harm a disk (normally shielded anyway)Originally Posted by Corabar Steve
