The Orangery is a short distance from the White Room but to get to it you have to go via the White Room and through landscaped gardens, a pain if you are carrying kit.

There may be another entrance but I am not aware of it.

Can you see any benefits in a pre event meeting at the venue yet or is it still a waste of time?

I'm guessing Rob can't. By what others have said about the venue, I'd say it was advisable.

A meeting at the venue is NOT necessary, partly because I'm arriving 2 hours before everyone else, partly because I've been given some useful info in this thread & partly because the client did not want an on site meeting.

Unlike some people, I don't force meetings on my clients. Call me old fashioned, but I've always found it better to make suggestions & then do what they want...rather than telling them what they will be having!

I'd go to see any venue like this beforehand anyway. Meeting venue staff often pays dividends, even if it's only to show you care about what you do, rather than plonk the same setup as usual in the first corner you
come to.
