    Wonder why.....

Think we will miss this old war horse....no one IMO better at a dead ball situation / free kick......

Uh..."You have been fined 99 bicycle clips, go directly to jail, do not collect 200 pounds... who's that naughty boy there?"

When beckham scored that last minute free kick against Greece to put us into euro 2000 (?) Was in a pub in Plymouth, I was at university. The roof came off the place, and most other buildings aswell!

Edit: oooops, just realised it said "world cup"

    When Harry met Paddy

I am of course talking about the 1982 World cup semi-final in Seville an absolutley awesome game of football between West Germany and France which finished 3-3 after extra time.

However the game will always be remembered for one of the most infamous horror tackles in World cup history. When West Germanys Goalkeeper Harald Schumacker took out Frances Patrick Battiston at the neck. It gets worse the more you watch it. At one stage There was a real fear for Battistons life as he was given oxegen on the pitch.

The referee never even spoke to Schumacker let alone booked him. Not once did Schumacker even go over to check if Battiston was ok. Showed no emotion whatsoever for Battistons plight.

For those of you who don't know what I'm talking about click on the link below

The squeamish amongst you though probably shouldn't
