Default Rules...don't you just hate 'em?

There's not too many rules here, mostly common sense. Some of the rules were implimented at the request of members, others are just plain common sense.

If you do happen to be moderated then please understand that it's for the benefit of the forum, and nothing personal. What we won't accept is people questioning how the site is run. This is a privately run forum that is freely avalilable to anyone that signs up and agrees to the guidelines upon registration.

I urge you to read below. . .

    The life of a moderator

I hate dramas. There's been a few recently but they've been dealt swiftly by the site moderators (who do a great job).

Play fair everyone, and just enjoy the forum without feeling the need to be a drama queen.

    Thanks for listening.

    Just to add to this....

Some of you may be wondering what's brought this thread on. There's been a few 'instances' lately where things have gotten out of hand and we've unfortunately had to take steps to rectify the situation. Many times the situations are dealt with swiftly by the moderators so most of you will never realise there's been an problem to begin with.

A few small points to reiterate as we've become aware of some confusion regarding certain things.

    Sin Bin
What is the Sin Bin? - It's basically a usergroup that places restrictions on a members posts. the posts have to be manually approved by a moderator before they are viewable on the forum. Other user options are also disabled such as the use of the PM system.
Who is placed in the Sin Bin? - To date very few members have actually been in there. Usually those added to that usergroup are members who have broken the rules continuously or do not follow the instructions of the moderators, or if we are concerned that someone may try and make posts to disrupt the forum if their posts are not moderated.
Is there a maximum amount of times you can be added to the Sin Bin? - There is a '3 strikes and out' rule with regards to the Sin Bin. This means you'll only ever be in there twice. The third 'strike' may result in a permanent ban from the site.
How long will someone remain in the Sin Bin? - This is at the sole discretion of the site administrators. Times can range from 1 week to indefinitely.

    Moderating Decisions
Moderating decisions aren't up for debate on the forum, and arguing or moaning on the forum about being moderated won't change the decision, and will ultimately lead to further action being taken. Please bear in mind we're only human and our opinion may differ from someone else's, and indeed from each others, we do our best to be fair with everyone; we've got lives too and can't spend a long time debating each and every little decision we make. So if moderated please just accept the decision and let it go - it's not the end of the world. However, If it's a situation where you truly believe you've been unfairly moderated then contact an admin privately in a cool and calm manner and we'll review the situation. At the end of the day we're really just trying to make this place the best place possible for all of you.

    --------------------------------------

If you feel you would like to comment about any of the above then please feel free to do so. Just try not circle like a colony of vultures.

    Thanks for listening.

    I have a question :

How does a moderator or admin contact me, and vice versa?
Does e-mail have to be used?

Sin inned members can still receive PMs from Administrators.

Should you need to contact an admin you can do so via any of the following email addresses

    request[at]mobilediscodirectory.co.uk
    shaun[at]mobilediscodirectory.co.uk

Or alternatively via the private contact area that is visible to Sin Binned members.

Replace the [at] with an @
