    Default What a day!

    Hi
just thought i'd post my tale of woe from today.
Yesterday a good friend and DJ asked me to cover a christening gig today for him, i said yes as he had a nasty flu bug.
en route to gig this afternoon the accelerator cable on my van snapped causing me to pull over. I rang my mate who said he would try and do it himself. AA took half an hour to arrive and 2 hours to fix.
as a gesture, i eventually arrived at the gig in case he wanted a break, i had a drink and a bit of buffet and all was well.
Then i got lost on the way home!
When i arrived home i felt ill and have just woken up from a 2 hour kip and i feel rotten....think i've got his bug!!!!

oh well...as the BBC said to esther rantzen when they axed her show...That's Life!
Have you got any DANCE music?

Ahem. Piece of string from under bonnet, through driver's window. Voila, a hand throttle.

apparantly, so the AA man tells me, Renaults are half electric half cable driven. the steel cable goes into an electronic switch thing. to get to it he had to take the battery out as well as the battery housing, computer thingy, remove bolts that held cooland bottle in place, remove fuel stop button. it was a nightmare

Hence why I drive a non-turbo, direct injection van, fitted with the renowned Transit banana engine.Totally gutless, clean as a whistle, and simplicity itself. Many other vans are also "Fly by wire" . It can be a nightmare.
