I've got one of these combination ladder/trolley contraptions - certainly a lot safer and more professional looking than a 'venue chair'

Standard procedure, really. Although with the pair of us we can rig at ground level and manually lift a side of the truss at a time.
Not very elegant, but winch stands and box truss are a way off yet. Must get round to picking up one of these tidy little things...

Just a matter of interest , if you use steps , they would need to be class one industrial , as you are using them for work , I think they have to be checked every 12 months , and a certificate of compliance is riveted to the sides by an H&S person that is suitably qualified .
In my day job as a painter , all my ladders and steps have to undergo an annual "mot" as it were.

The truss tops on my powerdrives are hinged so you can move one up a bit with the truss top pivoting, then over to the other side, etc. There are two of us so I don't need to do this, but that is how it would work if I was flying solo.
Also very useful for truss mounting solo as the tops pivot through 90 degress so can insert one end of truss whilst the other end is grounded, then deal with the second end.
Powerdrive - Excellent stand systems!
