Default Help with my NJD starcloth

    Hi all,

As the title says, my NJD starcloth has packed up. No light output from it at all. Changed the fuse in the plug, and opened up the cloth to check for any loose wires but nothing.
Had a good look at the controller but all seems fine, went to use it last weekend , switched it on and got nothing!
I've noticed when i turn on the power I get the slightest dim flicker from the led's then nothing.
Any ideas would really help, if one lamp fails do they all fail?
    cheers
    Andy

try a different lead between the cloth and psu. If the cable is faulty or not in all the way you will get the sane problem.

I have one lamp out on one of mine and the rest still work ok as well.

My NJD starcloth went wrong after about 8 months, but didn't keep the receipt to take it back.

Similar thing, no power at all - Turns out that the controller was fine for about 10 mins, then started outputting FAR too high a current/wattage (something electrical) and the whole thing popped...

I think they are just standard RS232 data cables, any decent pc shop should stock them.

    Try this.

When powered on do you get a red LED lit on the power box?
When controller is plugged in does the LED turn green?
Does anything happen when you vary the brightness control?

The LED's work in circuit, So if one LED dies/becomes disconnected that circuit will stop working but you should find the other circuit still works.

I'm having problems with my NJD starcloth at the moment . Only half the LED's are working. I've checked all the connections. It's either the control box or the main cable that comes out of the cloth.

    .
I dont think that is entirely the case as I have one dead led in one of mine and the rest still work perfectly.

Try taking the lid off the case and see if its fitted with an internal fuse
