So that argument is out the window.
That's what I use, albeit my own custom-made cables.

There is an argument that you're running your signal cables over a greater length, which is true.... but on the other hand, there is surely greater loss in the cable carrying the powered signal sent from an amp to a passive speaker?

More power loss using long passive cables try to use 2.5mm for longer runs but a sod to get the speakon wired up.
You can get 6 core 3x power 3x signal for a proper job but people tend not to spend money on good cabling as they see it not as a priority,i have just invested over £ 200 on speaker cables for a Alpha Nexo rig but a good investment.

Nice to see some McGregor kit in your set up.

I think it's the first time I've ever seen any of their gear in the gallery.

    Respect!

    Thanks Rob
ive a small mini-mountain of UK built Mcgregor littlies
ive 3 or 4 BGM 100 amps ( great for laptop / mike quizzers and small gigs with auto ducking to make you pro)
and a recently purchased MON 100 montor driver amp that sounds great with a pair of 8 inch yamaha plastic monitors i use for duos and accoustic artists

and ive a couple of BGM1 1 U mixers in a couple of my cubes
( Mixer compressor and switching amps ) in a 4 u cube with power distribution at rear)

i rather like the UK mcgregors trouble is theyre so expensive

    Couldn't agree more.

I have a BG250 mixer amp mounted in a case with a midi sized mini disc player, and that's been serving me well for the quiz nights for more than a decade now.

All I do is add is a speaker on a tripod & a mic, and I'm in business!

    Trust you to spot that!

In fairness, we don't know how old the picture is.

PS: the one above says it's due Mar 2007, so the picture better have been taken between Jan and Mar 2007, or he's in trouble.
