    Default Mad Datamoon

One of my NJD Datamoon’s has decided to play up.
It doesn’t want to black out, it just sticks on magenta with the lamp on.
It doesn’t want to produce the open gobo; it gets stuck on the blue gobo.
Also it sometimes goes to black out and back on all on its own.

I am using it with the NJD controller and have tried a spare controller and lead.

All the other functions work, including selecting other gobos.

Does anyone have any ideas, I’ve got a feeling it could be a chip gone?

sounds like a poorly stepper motor.
Open up the case and see if the wheel turns freely.
If it doesn't, your going to need a new motor.

    Thanks for the advice.

    UPDATE
A quick update on this problem, I sent the light back to NJD.
A month and £51.69 later I got the light back and now its totally dead!
I sent NJD a e-mail and they refused to give a refund, they said if I sent the unit back (at my expense) they will have a look at it.
Well I am reluctant as it took a lot of chasing to get them to “repair” it in the first place, I kept getting we will get back to you.

Any thoughts on what I should do, send it back or get a refund?

I have uploaded a video, see below.
I connected a working unit downstream of the failed unit, proving the controller was working. I also tried controlling it via DMX on the second half of the video. I opened the lamp cover to show the lamp was working.

Do you think the video is sufficient, any thoughts would be appreciated.
