Default New Site for review -- Built by me

    Hey guys,

I've now 99.9% finished my clients website... and we would love to hear your views on it.

    the site is www.sp-southampton.co.uk

It's a complete revamp and rebuild of his old site. We've created it in Joomla, and used many components to create the overal look and finish.

It does use a fair bit of javascript to enable to interactive content.

    -------
Look forward to your opinions.... (slatings)... and comments! LOL

    xx alex

    Nice looking site.

Might be a legal grey area in the mixing as your using popular songs.

"Party killing silences between songs (ie a DJ who can not mix and still uses CDs)"

Not sure you can claim just because people use cds that they cant mix.

Quality 800watt pro audio sound system and 800 Watt sub woofer bass system

Those numbers will mean sweat FA to clients. Maybe a more descriptive professional PA would be better?

Overall the site comes across bit more clubby and tailored to the younger crowds than someone wanting a classy wedding disco. If thats your aim then fair enough.

    Heya Deckstar...

Cheers for the first post ....

With regards to "Might be a legal grey area in the mixing as your using popular songs." .... it's something we are currently looking into...

With regards to "Party Killing Silences".... I'm really concerned as we've got a different version here! LOL

It SHOULD read.... " Party killing silences between songs (ie a DJ who can not mix) ".... and not what you've seen.

Can I ask that you F5 (refresh) when you are on the site.... and let me know if it still appears please??
If it does... then something is wrong somewhere LOL (my first bug perhaps?)

I would probably tone down the background image a bit as it interferes too much with the site layout. Make it just slightly visible

Defintely feels like a clubby site rather than anything else.

No cheesy banter? What if he client asks for it?

No cheesy butlins (should be Butlins) style music? Again what if they want that? What do you class as "Butlins" music?

Not sure you need the same info on every page.

Phewwwwwww ... was getting worried then LOL

Thanks for the comments so far.... really appreciate it

The client requested a dark, clubby feel.... and didn't want it to look too much like a hotel interior haha!

His market aim is towards the younger crowds who would prefer live mixing, and less classic cheese like the macarena, saturday night... etc... (Personally I love the cheese hehe!)

I've spotted a few spelling errors which I'm going to fix.

Has anyone had any problems actually VIEWING any parts of the site?? With regards to the modules and extras we've put on??
    Just want to check

I was going to say something very similar. It has 'impact', but, IMO, it's too busy for me to really be bothered to read any of the text.

On the right hand side links, it becomes very annoying to click a link and then have to click on the "click here" image. Would be better to do away with the 2 click links and just have them so you click on the text and it opens.

Its one thing having fancy on there but if I was getting bored having to click twice then other people may do aswell.

Can you play something with a beat ?
