Three little birds - Bob Marley works well.
    It wasn't me - Shaggy
Looking for love, take me to the clouds above, Free are all good Ibiza classics.

Summer of 69 works surprisingly well as does Love Shack and Boby Brown's - Two can play that game.

    P.I.M.P - 50 cent & Doin' It - LL Cool J

I thought this thread was about anthems?

Surely there are a lot of tunes listed that are popular with certain areas of students, but not anthems?

MGMT is a huge tune for the students around here but I only know that because I've done a couple of student gigs back in 2008/9 however its nothing I'd of considered playing until I saw someone else doing so and it raised the roof.

I know about all the popular board line cheese tunes but looking more for the less obvious ones if that makes sense.

The thing is, student 'anthems' tend to be specific to a particular uni, area or club, so what might go down a storm in one place, will bomb in another. In one of the clubs I play, these are some of the more 'unusual' anthems, most of which are probably specific to this club :

    Hanson - Mmmbop
Bloodhound Gang - The Bad Touch
    McFly - Obviously
The Charlatans - The Only One I Know
Elton John - I Guess That's Why They Call It The Blues
    Take That - Never Forget

And of course, these are all fairly universal :

Bon Jovi - Livin' On A Prayer
    The Killers - Mr Brightside
    Oasis - Cigarettes & Alcohol
Bryan Adams - Summer Of '69
    Dolly Parton - 9 To 5 [Remix]
Lynyrd Skynyrd - Sweet Home Alabama
..and more recently Journey - Don't Stop Believing

Has everyone forgotten these threads are for lists, not discussion?
