To slow down a battery operated mirrored ball motor requires a little "techie" work. You can place a resistor between the battery "+" lead and the motor. However doing this may reduce your battery life.
I use a 20" mirrored ball on a 1 RPM AC powered motor lighted by a pair of 100 watt ACLS (Air Craft Landing System) pin spots. It's AWESOME.
