The trouble is, if you're a self-employed DJ - who is your referee? Yourself. I suppose you could provide some of your business credentials if applicable, but it probably wouldn't really be appropriate.

Thank's for everything once again.
Updated my CV as well as still working on it, uploaded the new version to job site's and had this email come through from an IT company shortly after:
Hi Nathan
I've seen your CV on Jobsite and have a couple of jobs that potentially look suitable for you, however I could do with a bit more information.
Please click here to enter some more details and help me find you the ideal job.

From personal experience, watch out for recruitment agencies.
I have some very specific software skills, and I was still getting calls for "ideal jobs", that required skills that were not on my CV.
I've also been offered jobs directly after the interview- only to be told that their budget was never close to my salary requirements... I huge waste of my time when I make is very clear that I would not be considering anything less that a specific figure.
(their offer was 2K LESS than my salary at the time).
So - watch out!
Best advice has already been said - maximise the skills you utilise as party of running a business, and basically if you do get an interview - a good bit of prep about the company/marketplace and products - even if you're going for assembly worker jobs (which I've done), showing a good interest really helps.
For some reason, our production workers are all graduates (greatly over qualified!), and whilst its not my dept. I always suggest getting a keen person off the street would be better long term (as the graduates want a rapid careerer path, often leaving after a year or so)
