DMX care to explain how it all works iv done a google and how they all explanded it was complacated . all i know is that it has 512 channles and the dip swiched on the front control the channles and thats that. I know about Master Slave

simple. controller outputs 512 channels, you set the dmx fixtures to listen to those channels using the switches or control panel to tell it where to start listening.

ie. a 4 channel scanner would be set to listen at channel 1 - it will then listen to 1,2,3 and 4. the next scanner would be set to start at 5, which would listen to 5,6,7 and 8.

it can be, but at discos it couldn't be more simple. You can then get into things like, why commerical dimmer packs have 5 pin DMX connections, and fixtures have 3 pin DMX connections, how you convert them etc. Then theres polarity of the DMX line, DMX terminators etc.

The hardest bit being a mobile DJ is using the stupid controllers that we all use (as its not financially viable to by a Zero88 Frog 2 for discos!)
