    Default The Fleet Half Marathon

    Hi all,

I am running the Fleet half marathon on the 20th March and would appreciate any donations anyone can give me.

    Just some background,

On 20 September 2009 Matthew Elvidge, a cousin of mine, tragically took his own life after a short period of depression. Matthew was a confident, sociable and caring guy from a loving family. He had graduated from Newcastle University and was due to start a fantastic job before he died.

The Matthew Elvidge Trust, established by the Elvidge family, aims to increase the awareness of depression, reduce the stigma and encourage young people who are suffering from depression to seek the right professional help.

Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor me to run The Fleet Half Marathon. All donations will be quickly processed and passed to The Matthew Elvidge Trust. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this.

I really appreciate all your support and thank you for your donations to such a great cause.

    Tom.
I would appreciate anything you can spare.

    My sponsorship link

    Thanks,

    Tom

The Matthew Elvidge Trust - how will the money be spent?

I will donate because I think it's a bloody good cause.

The money is spent helping young people with depression get the help they need. This includes paying for entry into 'rehab' clinics such as the priory or the cardinal clinic. It also helps to support the families of young people who have taken their own life.

It is a great cause and very worthwhile. Thank you
