Default Advice page for punters about venues

This page is available to anyone who wants to copy it. Some members on another forum are now using it to help try and educate customers. It all helps to raise awareness of issues re Sound limiters, smoke detectors and other stuff.
Help yourself if you want to use all or any of it.

An informative page and I have one like that myself so thanks........BUT (there's always a but!)...

I don't think it's a good idea to say (or maybe encourage people to pressure venues) that certain sections of a venue can have their smoke alarms / detectors turned off. Yes, we want the lighting to look good and give that 'TV' effect with the beams of light etc but I just saw that line in your page and instantly thought "No!". I always inform my customers and venues about the smoke and haze and if I get told I can't use it, I won't. I wouldn't say anymore than that.

Depending on the system installed, it can be possible to do this safely and legally so I have been reliably informed. Ultimately it will be up to the venue so I can see no harm in them being asked the question.

The whole page reads a bit "yah, boo, sucks!" to me.

I understand what you're trying to achieve, but

    a) no-one's going to read it (except, if you're lucky, a spider)
    b) it needs rewriting to lose the tone
    c) it renders horribly in Safari - lines wrap too soon and the bottom couple of inches of the screen overlap the text. Not checked any other pages.

Comes with every Apple product and even a few Windoze users have been tempted.

Ah right. Views ok in IE, Chrome and Firefox so wouldn't have a clue what to do to make it work with Safari but I reckon that's something for them to address.

You have a webpage that's jam packed with coding and structure errors and yet it's the browser's fault that it doesn't render properly?

    Hmmm....
