Default Bring all the DJ Associations together!

Hi all, this should give everyone something to think about!

I've been reading through a lot of (mainly this forum(its the best one out their(hopefully the right there )))forums.

And to me quite a lot of people are in the same agreement that the Mobile Disco industry should be like a (don't know how to say this) regulated. Like corgi and the SIA licensing.

Now i've been looking at all the different (so called) professional associations out their
    - NADJ
    - SEDA
    - AMPdjs
    - Mobile DJ Network (of which im a member (only because the PLI is cheap))
To name but a few. ( I say so called because their seems to be a new one created every year offering even cheaper PLI if you join.)

Now Im currently working on a new project that is in development at the moment (sorry i can't say anything about it yet, but i will once i have the site working) And this thread links in with this new project.

I was thinking and read on here, its easy to start up an association, but why? When there are already a few good ones out their. They should join up with the other ones and use their skills to improve them. (in a thread somewhere about a copied name for NADJ)

So most of you must be members of different associations, and was just thinking (come on get to the point you have rambled on long enough) Do you think that we should push and try to get all of the current (market leading) DJ associations to join forces and make a UKDisco Association, working with the government to make it the official association for DJ in the UK?

    Just a though!

There is already a National association of DJs, if everyone would join it, your prayers would be answered.

Covering, West Midlands, Cotswolds, South & Mid Wales. Have van, will travel!

I joined the NADJ for three years and got ripped off for 3 years. Complete waste of time and money, gone elsewhere much much better than NADJ could ever be.

    Hi Bolton DJ.

Could you post a thread in the newbies section and introduce yourself to the forum. You'll find people more responsive to your posts when they know a bit more about you.

As for NADJ I find that you need to put the effort in to go to the networking meets and events to make being a part of it worthwhile.

People who join just for the PLI seem to be the only ones that complain about NADJ.

How did they rip you off then? Did they not give you what you were promised or take more money than originally asked?

    Did you get involved?

What did you want from NADJ?

I am very interested to know why people feel they are 'ripped off'.
