But I see where surround sounds is coming from, and at 100 watts i'd be inclined to say its not going to bee all that loud.

No, but it gives you a General idea. A 800 watt speaker is likely to be louder than a 100watt
Another example is on my old car the speedometer stopped working, I was able to get a GENERAL idea of my speed using the rev counter
As a general rule of thumb more power = more noise

One of these were bought along to the last Seda meet and they are pretty loud and they sound nice as well
