    Default Advertising at gigs

Ok I need your thoughts and suggestions please..

I am thinking of using one of my marketing uprights (same as I use for wedding fairs) on gigs. Maybe at the side of the stage or next to me or in a corner..

I am hesitant to do so because I am not sure if I would look like an Idiot or not.

I used to use the old advertising deck stand (back in 2000 lol) but that became "tacky".

    So

Do any of you do this???

Do you think it would look silly, desperate or actually quite good/professional?

No way would I ever consider doing this.

Even if it became the norm for other people to do so I would flat out refuse to do so. Its someones big day and they dont want some banner in the background ruining their shots.

My honest opinion if guests enjoyed your disco then contact details will be asked for no way on advertising

It's a 'no' from me as well. You have to consider potential clients being put off seeing it as well as attracting enquiries. Being friendly and approachable and having decent quality business cards with you is the best way in my opinion.

    No from me to.

How about leaving a few business cards "lying around" (depending on the function of course). Or have some request slips with all your details on....

If everyone could come and see a performance I wouldn't need to advertise. Its the best shop window ever. People remember who you are if you are any good, or make the effort to find out if they want someone at a later date.
I keep getting calls from people saying 'you have been recommended by so and so who saw you at such and such a job' Sometimes I can't even remember who the mean, but all good.

So no banners for me, no cards on tables, no flyers, no streaming LED messages, no nothing (double negative, very poor use of the queens). One show for one customer. If you like it you know where I am - behind all those flashing lights.

I have been thinking about it tbh in the last few days.

I used to use a banner but have not done for ages.

It does help on brand awareness and may help you look a bit more professional?
It does not have to get in the way of photos - a good photographer will not get it in shot.
I think this in the right venue would not look too bad?

Either that or a small logo on the front of my flight case.

Sometimes it's a definite yes, sometimes it's an absolute no go. It all depends on the function.
