Charlie your best bet is to give them a revised quote without the uplighting and remember tomorrow is another day

Did you provide them with a quote with and without?
The timing difference certainly wouldnt have made any difference to the quote I provided, so the question is really whether you quoted individually for the uplighting.

Cancelation by client
Booking Fee’s are non-refundable. Any cancellation of a confirmed booking less than 3 months prior to the booking date will be subject to an additional charge of 75% of the total booking charge. Cancellation less than a month prior to the booking is subject to an additional charge equivalent to 90% of the total booking charge.
TBF, there is a flaw. It doesn't state anything about additional services, like mood lighting.

Don't be silly. I value everybody's help & advice. I just wondered what they would do. I know Ben has 60+ cans. How will ever sell mood lighting if people keep signing and then changing is mind!

Nope. The mood lighting was part of a package so it's just one contract.

Surely if you're 'running a business' - mistakes/changes like this is where you make your money?
I can't charge them a cancellation fee or anything? ..... This is what working at an estate agents has done to me. Get as much as you can...
Which probably won't do me any favors in getting repeat business.
Probably give a bit more consideration to good customer service than you are at the moment!
And why on earth should the 'bigger guys' have any more of a valid viewpoint than those who have already posted?
Working in an Estate Agents also appears to be turning you into an ass!
Try reading what you post and thinking how it could be taken!

But it also goes some way to reinforce why the public think the way they do about a lot of estate agents.....

I remember when I booked a limo a few years ago. We opted for their 'refreshments package' which included a few drinks etc.
A month before the limo date, we deiced against the refreshment pack but weren't allowed to cancel because we had agreed we wanted the additional drinks.
This is what prompted my thread. It's a similar situation.

Here's the way I see it, but I'm no expert on contractual law.....
If your T&C's state that once additional services are booked no refunds will be made, then I think you're covered. If your T&C's don't specify anything of the sort you'll have to cancel the current contract, re-agree a new price with your clients and issue a new contract.
