No for more on a Monday but I was just making the point you don't have to be a great singer to host Karaoke.

I partly disagree with that. If you don't sing at all, what are you going to do to encourage the guests to get up and sing if they are a bit slow in getting going?

I certainly think it's a big advantage if you can sing or even if you can't and make an effort.

All the hosts I have seen in pubs and skegvagus have been pretty decent singers (or a strong voice)

Generally, they would sing a few tunes to get people in the mood.

I've never seen a host not sing.

I certainly wasn't trying to say it doesn't matter if you can sing and of course it is an advantage but I've sang a couple of songs recently knowing full well I couldn't sing I picked songs which didnt demand too much.

I'm a firm believer that everyone can sing but it's a case of choosing the right song for your voice. Shane MacGowan is more known for his teeth than his voice but that doesn't stop his most famous offering being played to death every christmas.

Yes, but singing doesn't go down to well at all those corporate race nights!!

Anyway, as per the OP, if I had absolutely nothing in / no chance of anything else coming in then I'd consider it as a one-off. With no overheads £70 is £70 after all. Certainly wouldn't go in to it for the long-term, though.

    EDIT
Actually, just re-read the OP and you need your own play-out and mics so there are overheads. It's now a case of thanks, but no thanks. (glad I re-read before I added my mark to the poll!)
