No bother. It will help you to find out if its worth pursuing the option of burning your own discs. If it comes up as a no-no then it'll save you wasting time on downloading/buying the software.

Both USB2 and Firewire have been around for a number of years now but both are currently being superseeded by USB3 and Intel's LightPeak/Thunderbolt so those comments show how old the information is. Still, it's a useful starting point and two of my previous drives are on the list (unfortunately, those models, as far as I remember, have been discontiued).USB2 - Good potential. This is a new standard to compete with Firewire. It is much faster than USB but is very new. USB2 compatible equipment and interfaces are just now becoming available.
Firewire - Very New/Fast. This could be the one to get in the future.
