Question *** Acme Dynamo DIP SWITCH Settings ***

    *** PLEASE HELP ***

I have bought 4 Dynamos, they came with no liposuctions, I did a search on here and came up with a few threads but no real answer....

....... What are the best dip switch settings for running these on master/slave?

Did you search for the manual on Google?

The first search for "Acme Dynamo" returned an on-line store with the full instruction manual there:

    http://www.djstore.com/item/acmdyna01.htm

There are only 2 combinations for master/slave: inverted or not.
Set master to Ch1, slave(s) to anything else (but not Ch1).

Depending on your set-up, invert the movement via Dip Switch 10.

    Hope this helps,

hi jason, I did read the on-line Manuel but didnt learn a lot from it.

when you say the slaves can go on any other setting then im confused, what does each switch do in that case?

thanks for taking the time to reply.

Dip switch 1 on all the dynamos will set the lights sound to light master slave mode. However, if you set switches 1 & 10 to 'on' then those dynamos will invert the function so the effect is 'mirrored'....which will give you a more dynamic light-show.

Set the first dynamo to dipswitch 1 on (all the rest set to off).
Set the second dynamo to dipswitch 1 & 10 on (all the rest set to off).
Set the third dynamo to dipswitch 1 on (all the rest set to off).
Set the four dynamo to dipswitch 1 & 10 on (all the rest set to off).

    Give it a try.

It's been a long time since I used dynamos, my memory of what to do might be totally off the mark....plus, I really shouldn't post advice while I'm innebriated.

Which is why I recommneded giving it a try. Please don't take my above post as fact. LOL

I'll sit back and wait on someone with more technical knowledge to correct my ramblings.

    Edit:

    In fact...it might be.....

Set the first dynamo to dipswitch 1 on (all the rest set to off).
Set the second dynamo to dipswitch 10 on (all the rest set to off).
Set the third dynamo to dipswitch 1 on (all the rest set to off).
Set the four dynamo to dipswitch 10 on (all the rest set to off).

Hi Guys- Shaun looks to be a bit incorrect, in that the slaves need to have any other address than 1.

    So;
Set the first dynamo to dipswitch 1 on (all the rest set to off).
Set the second dynamo to dipswitch 2 & 10 on (all the rest set to off).
Set the third dynamo to dipswitch 2 on (all the rest set to off).
Set the four dynamo to dipswitch 2 & 10 on (all the rest set to off).
That should work. The DMX Master should only have the DMX Out connection wired.
The slaves can be wired in any order.

With the above config, the DMX Master (dip switch 1 on), will control the others.
If you leave dip switch 10 OFF, then they will all follow what the master is doing.
Dip switch 10 ON will invert their horizontal movement - best to see what you prefer.
