Then upgrade the memory and hdd and save £700 lol im guessing the processor isnt the best BUT if ts purely for backup and odd use then i cant see why it would be a huge thing.

Deffo dont put vista on it uses too mny resources, i have it on my home pc and damn i wish i hadn't and i shall be changeing it soon back to xp.

Vista is quite possibly the worst OS on this planet. Stick with XP, or from what I've heard Windows 7 is supposed to be OK.

Have you used a Mac Darren?
TBH, Windows 7 is ok, Mac OSX is ok too. Neither are perfect, but for DJing, OSX is stable and does a great job, not that I had any troubles with XP
The Macbook Pro has a light up keyboard too which is great for working in the dark!
