    Default new tripods?

ater nearly ten years im looking at replacing my tripods plus i want to butcher the old ones to become turntable stands for when i use my rig for events that they want 1210s

right so im looking for some new tripods to take my k10's
    must be black
also im thinking of getting some of the small footprint ones, to save space and load space in the wagon

any advice links or experience with good ones?

the ones i have now are horrible maplin brought ones where the center tube hits the floor on unlevel setups lol

your k10s deserve so much better! I use the hercules winch stands for my k12s and they are great although a bit bulkier than what you seem to require. Perfect for getting them well up in the air too.

they defiantly deserve better than the maplin specials they have served me well though but its time for new i think defiantly.

im not to bothered about getting them in the air the ones i have go high enough for my needs, id just like something a bit more compact for both transport and set up, plus i hate the way the cheap ones i have the center pole never goes up, if you know what i mean and sometimes makes them wobble on unlevel floors
ive seen some one on here using some silver ones with a small footprint

How small do they need to be ?
I use Proel tripods on all three of my systems , they collapse down to 41 inches ,they are very rigid and strong too.
There are two models of Proel tripods available , I have both.
They take up the same amount of space, the more expensive model is more robust than the cheaper model.
The cheaper model is very good anyway.

With the greatest of respect, yours haven't exactly been put to the road test yet, have they? (ie durability over any any length of time)

That's true. But I think the build quality is good for the price paid. I'm comparing obviously to the likes of Powerdrive etc

In which case there is no comparison.

I have a pair of the QTX and they are OK, but no comparison to either Proel and especially not Powerdrive!

Powerdrive are heavier and are made from a different material.
