Default Karaoke - what do you use?

I had a 'company console' that we used for karaoke with a Numark 200FX mixer, 2 x PG58 radio mics, DAC-2 and Denon HD2500, but since getting my Denon MC6000 I wanted a smaller case that I could just add on and my other guys could do the same.

So, this is the finished product.

Swan 3U case with front and rear doors, Studiomaster C3X mixer, 2 x PG58 radio mics and video splitter with all cabling, so all I have to do is take a line into the MC6000 and plug in the screens and I'm off!

    What does everyone else use?

I either use VDJ or another Karaoke program which the name escapes me at the moment. I have a dedicated external HD with all of the files on it.

    I use a separate Behringer Xenyx 1202FX mixer with 2 x Shure PG58 microphones.

I didn't mean the software, more the hardware.

Do you run the Berry mixer from your disco mixer?

    Yes.
I used to have the Numark 200FX mixer as my main mixer until I got the new Vestax one. I found that the effects weren't great. The Behringer is a great little mixer and was only about £90.00 and I use it as the main mixer with my Denon and Vestax going through it.

pardon me for being dim, but what actually provides the Karaoke? The Laptop connected to the 6000? Does it treat Karaoke as if it were simply music with pictures?

And as for our gear, well:
Up to three 18 channel mixers, ( one powered in case of problems ), a stack of Class D's and W-audio for the main Karaoke, four laptops at least, a 3Kw RCF full rig in case we have to play music at some point, a full spare lighting rig, full venue uplighting, and around eighteen microphones of various flavours.

I can't stress highly enough the importance of having adequate backup.

I am still old fashioned with karaoke and use a kam or jvc karaoke machine and discs.

I use VDJ. VGA lead from laptop into splitter, which then goes to the screens.

The songs are Mp3+G - the G being the graphics part.

Gary, have you ever tried running the Berry mixer as a line from the Denon or do you always run the Denon from the Behringer?
