    Default 12v 1.67a 20va

    What I hear you ask?

I bought 4 ADJ Starballs a long time ago and lived happily with them doing their thing (they are the LED Mirrorball type lights).

They are still working fine - except that the person I bought them from was a fellow forum member on a now non-working site and I don't know where he purchased them from.

They came with a continental plug and I just used an adaptor with them.

Time has taken it's toll and the power adaptors have all gone to the big power adaptor graveyard and I cannot find any ordinary adaptor to work them. I've tried others and all they do is light the ball but then it doesn't spin.

The adaptor has AC ADAPTOR Typ: SB48-289 Output 12V-1.67A-20VA written on it, but google has not been my friend.

Anyone any ideas where I can get some power adaptors from rather than buying new starballs?

    Many thanks

    Tony

12Volts is the voltage. 1.67 Amps is the max current. If you multiply the two together, in accordance with W=VI, 12x1.67=20VA,( Which should be around 20Watts )
Thus you need an adaptor running at 12Volts, with 20Watt capacity.

Edit: First one out of Google. It swapped the one I found for this. Same voltage, double the power. If you could get the connectors sorted, it would run both at once.

Indeed, but if I read the OP correctly, the power supplies are dead, not the mains adaptors. Aren't they?

I don't actually remember having power supplies with them - perhaps I'm getting confused with something else. I'll have a check tomorrow.

Well the OP says it's running at 12V, so I'd guess there's a transformer involved somewhere.

Sorry to confuse everyone - It is the power transformer that has died. I have nothing to plug in to the mains and then into the units.

So I need something that I can buy to plug in to the mains and then into the StarBalls so that they do their thing.

Hope this makes more sense and apologies to those that have assisted for confusing the issue.

Assuming that the socket on the end is correct, that looks to be exactly what the Doctor ordered. Thanks Jack.
