Just I few questions, I think I've found a website designer, however it only comes with basic SEO. I was wondering what do I need to do to make sure my website is on the first or second page of google and bing. I only know one thing which is back linking but I am really not sure what else I need to do for example how do you choose keywords

Seriously though - just make a good site with interactivity that is applicable to your clients with key words in the sentences.

Why are you getting a web designer that is only going to do half a job?

SEO is complicated IMO. I wouldn't know where to start. Pay a professional web designer to do the whole sherbang. You won't look back buddy.
