Default Bought a pair of ALTO TS 112A

I'm looking at adding a back up pair of actives to my stock and also for the occasional dry hire.

I've been drawn towards the ALTO TS 112A

    http://www.altoproaudio.com/products/ts112a

    Spec is:

    800 Watts Class D power
12” low frequency transducer, 1” neodymium driver
2 Mic/Line combo inputs with independent volume controls
    XLR output to link speakers
    Lightweight, trapezoidal cabinet with handles
Use as a traditional upright loudspeaker or as floor wedge monitor
    Stand/pole mountable or flyable
    Clip Limiter with Red LED
    Ground Lift switch
Contour switch for increased EQ control

Coming in at £429 a pair which sounds (pardon the pun ) reasonable to me.

Anyone got these or heard these?

That spec was lifted directly from their website so they've probably been clever and quoted for a pair

Going for a listen is easier said than done.

Looking at technical spec it is 800w peak power, 400w continuous so I would say approx 200w RMS. That is small so probably why it is cheap price.

    TECH INFORMATION

Transducer Low: 12” Woofer, with 2” voice coil
Transducer High: Neodymium compression driver, 1” exit with 1” voice coil
    Power Amplification: 800 Watts peak (670 W LF + 130 W HF), 400 Watts continuous (335 W LF + 65 W HF)

    Above from website.

Not heard the speakers, but I use an Alto X23 active crossover and it seems to deliver all the expectations. Can therefore recommend the brand

Well I took the plunge and bought a pair and they've just arrived.

Very impressed sound great. Good Bass for a 12". Nice & solid, not too heavy. Even got a funky blue led on the front .

    Think I've done alright here

The only fault I can find is that the XLR just pushes into place and doesn't click or lock in place they're just pushed in.

Couple of pics if you don't know them

Back up speakers incase the RCFs go Pete Tong and the occasional dry hire to a local venue.

The dry hire side of things is solely for one venue as they do alot of DIY Weddings
