Most methods for adding images to email will attach it, or link to a hosted image. The problem with both of these is that that with most email clients images won't show without a warning which must be clicked before the image is shown (with default settings, anyway).
To get around this you can embed your image as part of a multipart message (see http://www.campaignmonitor.com/blog/...ges-revisited/) or if the image is simple (like a small logo for example) I came accross this CSS method which is pretty cool and claims to work in most email clients: http://www.imgtocss.com/

Interesting, I looked at the imgtocss website and tested their example.
The firefox icon they use as an example is 64 x 64 pixes and a tad under 9K in size. The resultant HTML to replicate that image is a whopping 113k !!!

It's always going to be bigger...have you ever heard of a workaround that isn't? Of course not....otherwise it would be called a shortcut

Daz,
If you use live mail the clip below should be handy for you. I tried it out and it works perfect.

I'm using Outlook, thanks anyway.

Which version of Outlook are you using?

Numpty!
I know how to do it in Outlook 2003 (and I believe it's the same in 2007), but having checked the T'interweb, apparently Microsoft changed/removed the ability to add an HTML signature in Outlook 2010 onwards.

If you still need to know Darren - I've literally just inserted my logo into my signature today
Follow these steps, assuming you already have a signature stored within outlook.
Tools - Options - Mail Format - Signatures - Edit - Right Click within your existing signature - Insert Image.
You can also add a hyperlink to the image or "alternative text"
Hope that helps

As per our telephone conversation:
Demo: Create and use an e-mail signature [Outlook 2007]
But as I said on the phone, you have no control over how it actually looks in other people's email programmes which is why many companies just use text.
