You can pay £££££'s per month / year and you may get the results you want.

Or, if you haven't the money then you can attempt to do it yourself. My suggestions will help, but there's only so much a "novice" can do if he/she doesn't know what to do.

Both of the above are ongoing jobs, weekly if not daily, to achieve some kind of result

Whatever you choose you WILL not NOT achieve top spot in Google.
