I've converted about 4 in the last 12 months. Will renew again. I must admit though I thought the conversion rate would be higher.

To be fair, your settings state only Quality DJ enquiries in the NG area. Hardly a wide catchment

I've done OK from Need A Disco, not great just OK. I'll certainly stick with it. I've converted several, including a pub that rebooked me - both pub events at a good rate for pub work.

As a search site it's bound to attract a lot of people who are price driven, discerning potential clients would probably search in a different way - using key word searches or asking friends for recommendations. I always hope enquiries for "a range of quotes" will want to know why some of us charge three times more than others - and that's the angle I try and work.

Less face it, even if you only get one booking a year it's well worth it.

    Thing is, I'm sure I'd convert at 100% if I quoted £100, but I don't!

Feedback from customers showed that a LOT (I'm talking 70%+) didn't have a clue about DJ costs as they very rarely if ever book one (despite us putting up a table of example costs based on actuals).

Therefore "A range of quotes" was added.

Unfortunately, for the recipient DJ, this can be vague. But everything we do is in line with customer feedback, and this 'range' feature is commonly used.

In these cases you need to look at the other information provided with the quote to determine whether or not to reply.

Hopefully, in time as we build up a decent tail of purchase data, we'll be able to provide indicative costs for any given function type, venue type or geographic area so that they can make a more informed choice and ultimately lose the 'range' option.

    Martin,

Thank you for the detailed reply.

Hopefully I'll have more luck with the site in future.
