Default Wedding Flyer.... Thoughts please :)

    Hi Guys,

I've been meaning to get something together for a while and now the god forbids are back at school, I have a little spare time.

I've knocked up a Wedding flyer, but I need some brutal (always count on MDD for that) honesty. Does it look naff? Does it look too Amateur?

I AM FULLY AWARE some of our fellow posters are designers etc. Please dont come back with a "leave it to the professionals" type remark.

It's a first mock up and things will change. It's also very pixelated as a JPEG, the final versions will be PDF. I'm aware it looks naff.

It will be blindingly obvious to most - I created it in a well known microsoft program

Brutally honest - the layout looks like a junior school Valentines card project - it needs to be much more sophisticated to appeal to the wedding market.

And what's that 'from £999 package - raised eyebrows' about?

Not turning this into a pricing thread, but I would imagine 99.9% of people wanting a dj would see the £999 bit and look elsewhere, make it £60 instead

Also your hearts - well don't look like hearts

I think as an initial idea it looks good, but you need to hire a , sorry not supposed to say that

Am I the only one that can see that the £999.00 comment put on there is just for the forums benefit as in, it's just a laugh?

I think it looks pretty cheap (the flyer) to be honest Mike. I don't like the hearts at all. You can do much better than that mate.

I agree - Those pink "heart shaped" objects will be going. I'll try and have a go without them...

As for the £999 bit - poor attempt at humour it seems. If I were charging £999 for a Wedding a) would I be attempting to design a flyer myself b) Would it look like a junior school valentines card project???

I'm gonna have a play with it - It's an initial idea that took me (my daughter, cough cough) 15 mins to come up with, but thanks for your honesty. I'll post an updated design

It looks very amateur to me. Colours are wrong - layout is wrong.

It's screams home made to me. (apologies to your daughter...)

I would seriously speak to any of the designers on here Mike.

I have to agree - It looks crap - Why on earth did I post it after 15 mins of playing around? I designed it really - not my Daughter (but both of my daughters like it, no surprise as they are both in junior school - Lol)

I like to "have a bash" at these types of things myself, and sadly not earning enough to pay for design services.

I'm all over a "revised" edition - watch this space.
