Default 'Search Engine Easy' harvesting from MDD

I've just had a sales call from a company - SEE / Search Engine Easy.

Seeing as we're registered with CTPS, we shouldn't be receiving these calls at all so I will be reporting them for that, but on further questioning, they stated that they thought it was fair game because we were registered on a directory. When I asked them which directory they were taking the numbers from, they told me it was MDD.

They had a bit of a shock when I told them that I also co-owned that, and that under the terms of the site, they were only permitted to use contact details to contact members to enquire about booking their services.

They were extremely apologetic and have promised not to use the directory for this purpose any more, but I thought I'd post this us to see if any one else gets a call after this point in time.

    When was this, Paul?

I'm particularly interested in checking to see if they keep to their word and stop immediately.

I had a random call from a company trying to get me to get myself on google front page at a cost it was an 08707 number on the 2nd. Fortunately for me if I want a product I will look for it, not jump on an offer or an unsolicited call

I'm sure we used Seach Engine Easy a few months back. They actually did what they said they would do and probably offer a good service for people aiming in their local area. When we cancelled we also had no issues doing so whatsoever, which is unusual for these type of companies.

I agree they should be cold calling, but remember the person on the phone is only doing their job for the company they work for and in the current climate they probably hate it - but are struggling to find anything else.
