    Default carlsbro gamma 15/600watt active sub

    i have been offered 2 of these still brand new for a very good price, i was looking at getting a single alto tssub15 but for just a bit more i can get 2 of these.

    does anybody know if these are any good. only thing putting me off is the weight difference

    Used a pair a couple of years ago at a marquee wedding and they sounded ok as far as I can remember!

    I've used these and they are IMO not bad.
    The bass is 'not in your face' but more toned down the down sideis the weight - bit bulky and awkward.

    I had the Carlsbro powered gammas a while ago and I assume they haven't changed much. I'd avoid them because:

    the cabs are heavy and very difficult to handle
    the bass is floppy rather than punchy
    the 126db claimed is perhaps a little generous.
    they are not very stable with a pole and top speaker

    Never had that problem with my Mackies on the top.

    Not a lover of Carslbro stuff. Unreliable in my opinion. Not used this bass though. I would not personally entertain anything Carlsbro ever again.

    As these havent been made for over 3 years i hope they are very cheap!
    seriously have come across a fewof the actives with fire damaged amps!
    in the 60s and 70s Carlsbro were ok....not any more

    he had a shop but closed it due to having cancer. the remaining stock from theshop is in his garage
