I liked it but I only had a play for a few minutes. For a Traktor user it was intuitive. I didn't spend much time looking at other controllers though to compare as I went mainly to look at PA.
The general write ups on it seem good but it would really depend on your mixing style and how you dj as it has some missing features vs the s4 (filters for instance). If you just want 2 play buttons then you probably don't need much but if you want to get into some serious mixing then you'll want to spend more and make a more educated choice.
Have a look at www.djtechtools.com . They have reviewed most controllers on there.
What is your long term plan? Are you investigating maybe going the laptop route in the future, but want to get used to it before you take the plunge at gigs? If so, I would work from the software back as that will influence your choice of controller perhaps.

Surely a second hand MC6000 would be ideal Shaun?

Long term will depend if Denon bring out a successor to the HD2500. I like using an HDD controller and really don;t want to go down the midi route for work.
The plan is to get a half decent controller solely for home use for the time being, and "see how I get on". If I do decide to go down the midi controller route at some point in the future then this 'toy' I'm buying will be used as a backup. However, for the time being I can't see me moving to midi in a gig situation for quite some time (if ever at all). I've got three hd2500's so they should keep me going for a while. I just want a half decent controller for doing a litle mixing at home on the PC.

That's be ideal, if I can get one at the right price.

I myself have just bought a MIDI controller, and will keep you all posted as to my experiences and findings.

The ergo did feel like a nice piece of kit when I used it. The only thing that I don't like is the silly flashing lights around the platter.
I'm still no further forward with deciding what to get. I like the mc6000 but it's a bit too pricey for just using in the house. Unless anyone is selling one?
